Philosophy

The environment of our girls summer camp is disciplined, structured and oriented to Christian principals. We do not discriminate on the basis of race or religion. We believe that the achievement of excellence in the programs that we offer develops self-esteem and confidence so that the girls are better able to interact with their peers, the staff, counselors and their family. You can be sure that the campers have fun and thoroughly enjoy every day of camp. Campers will return home with a great attitude and many fond memories. Our girls summer camp is a lifetime investment for your child. Because we take a limited number of campers, the safety of your child is ensured. Each girl receives individual attention.

Staff and Counselors

All of the staff members at our girls summer camp are carefully chosen. They are very competent and dedicated to making the summer camp a tremendous success. The instructors are professionals in their area of expertise. Counselors are selected on the basis of high moral character and talent. Counselors have at least two years of college. We also have a registered nurse on our staff. Excellent doctors and a hospital are only minutes away from the ranch.

RIDING HELMETS ARE REQUIRED! We require all trail riders and summer campers at St. John Ranch to wear ASTM/SEI certified helmets. If your camper has a proper helmet, bring it to camp. If not, you will need to rent one for a $5.00 fee. One will be assigned to each camper during her stay at our girls summer camp.

Airport pickup

Each year our girls summer camp has campers from many other states. We will pick your child up at the Shreveport Regional Airport, which is about 1 1/2 hours away. We will also take her to the airport when her session ends. There will be a small fee for this service.

Activities at St. John Ranch Girls Summer Camp

• All areas of Western and English Horsemanship including care, grooming, and riding skills
• Private English riding lessons
• Trail Rides every day over many miles of scenic trails for every camper
• Arena Training - We teach beginning and experienced riders
• Swimming Classes and fun swimming everyday

Our girls summer camp is organized and scheduled. The schedule is posted for the campers in the dining room each day.

Only 16 Girls (Ages 7-15) per week will be enrolled.

Girls may attend one to five weeks. Girls staying only one week, may attend any week desired.

ENROLLMENT SHOULD BE DONE EARLY since spaces are limited. Call or e-mail the name, age and session your daughter will come. A camper may come for as many sessions as you like. We recommend at least two weeks for each camper. When you contact us, we will send you an application form. Complete the application form and mail it to St. John Ranch along with your $100.00 non-refundable deposit. We will then mail you a confirmation, a list of items to bring, and a copy of our rules and policies.

St. John Ranch is a member of the Certified Horsemanship Association. We adhere to and follow the published standards for summer camp and group riding programs.
